Picture perfect tribute to our bush heritage
TERRY Underwood was almost reduced to tears when finding out her photo would be published on the day of cattle pioneer Sid Parker’s funeral.
“I wanted to bring the bush into this competition, there’s so much of it in the Territory. This is honouring him and the industry.”
Her grandchildren Christina and Xavier Underwood, 5 and 7 respectively, were photographed last year doing their homework on Riveren cattle station, 600 kilometres southwest of Katherine.
Mrs Underwood, who submitted the snap for the NT News “We’re for NT” photo competition, is now in the running to win a GoPro video camera, courtesy of Harvey Norman. And we want you to enter your personal pics as well.
It could be anything from your catch of the day, to beachgoers at the waterfront – whatever you think represents the Territory.
One photo will be published in the paper and on our website every day until January 20. After all the submissions are in, NT News picture editor Michael Franchi will choose the winner who will receive a GoPro.
Email photos to news@ntnews.com.au with the subject ‘We’re for NT’. Include your name, address, contact details and a brief description of your pic in the body of the email. Good luck!
