Hunter’s best wine, beer and entertainment a perfect recipe for an indulgent weekend away: Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival– Saturday 18 June, 2022

18 May 2022: The Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival will be held on Saturday 18 June in the grounds of the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, and lovers of the Hunter’s rich pedigree of wines, beers, artisan food and entertainment can maximise the weekend away by staying at the resort over the weekend.

The Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley’s packages start from $439 per room including accommodation,  breakfast in Redsalt Restaurant, festival entry and a complimentary tasting glass (per person).

This will be the Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival’s 10th anniversary, and to celebrate there will be a record number of exhibitors providing tastings throughout the event, which runs from 11am to 5pm on the Saturday.

Up and coming local wineries such as Winmark Wines and the Parched Crow Wine Co join many of the Hunter Valley’s established wineries, while Six String Brewing Co. and Block n Tackle Brewery are among eight premium breweries exhibiting at the Festival.  The Crowne Plaza is also home to Sydney Brewery’s Lovedale Brewery and tours and tastings will be available throughout the weekend.

In between tastings (which will also include local cheese and other artisan products), festival-goers can enjoy foods from a wide range of providores, and the opportunity to relax in the spacious lawns of the Crowne Plaza.

Entertainment will come from CCMA National Junior Songwriter of the Year Ella Powell, who will perform from 11am – 2pm, and in the afternoon, the 4-piece band, Fahrenheit, will raise the temperature with covers ranging from 50s/60s greats Sam Cooke, Elvis and The Beatles to the hits of the 70’s and 80’s from artists such as LRB, Cold Chisel, Hoodoo Gurus and The Angels.

The Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival is a family-friendly event, with children receiving complimentary entry to the Festival, where they will enjoy a variety of activities including a jumping castle, train rides, petting zoo and face painting.

For festival attendees not staying at the Crowne Plaza, general admission tickets are available for $15pp ($25pp on the day) through Moshtix (booking fees apply).  Tastings are available for $2 each (30ml wine, 100ml beer/cider).
