$7m upgrade for Dundee boat ramp

The Dundee Boat Ramp will receive a $7m facelift. This follows the Northern Territories move to invest in infrastructure to make the NT a world-class fishing destination.

The NT government will fund the project, with the cash being spent to improve the functionality of the popular boat ramp with upgrades of the groyne, footpath and, a new and safer pontoon.

THE popular Dundee Boat Ramp will receive a $7m facelift.

Funded by the NT government, the cash will be spent to improve the functionality of the popular boat ramp with upgrades of the groyne, footpath and, a new and safer pontoon.

Daly member Dheran Young said the announcement of the upgrades was a great win for the people of Daly and the community of Dundee.

“With $7m for upgrades to the boat ramp also helping to boost visitors to the area,” Mr Young said.

“Fixing the Dundee Boat Ramp will provide a better user experience for our Territory fishos and their families.”

The Territory Government is spending $50m on recreational fishing infrastructure to enhance the NT’s reputation as a world-class fishing destination.

The Department for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics will release the tender for the detailed design in early 2022, with the tender for construction expected to be released mid-to-late 2022.
